The 2025 Annual Turtle and Tortoise Show
The Annual Turtle and Tortoise Show was held on June 28
at the Beczak EnvironmentalCenter in Yonkers, NY.

The Charity Turtle Races 2025
On Sunday, June 8, Prime Produce hosted its annual Charity Turtle Race in conjunction with the New York Turtle and Tortoise Society and other worthy nonprofits. Organized by Prime Produce’s Turtle Team, the 2025 Race provided a fun way for New Yorkers to meet exotic pet turtles while raising awareness and funds for grassroots ecology initiatives. Turtles and their owners were thrilled to show off their rehabbed chelonians and have them compete for fun prizes. Photos by Anita Salzberg



The SUBMERGE Marine Science Festival 2025
Held Saturday, May 17 at Hudson River Park’s Pier 83. NYTTS members present to field turtle questions were Matt Hybel, Kathy Rumpler, Anita and Allen Salzberg, and Frank Schneider. Turtles included one juvenile and two full-grown Alligator Snapping Turtles, two Eastern Box Turtles, a Diamondback Terrapin, a Wood Turtle, and a Musk Turtle. A Burmese Brown Tortoise represented a non-native species. The slide show below of photos taken by Anita Salzberg are largely self-explanatory as they focus on the children’s and adults’ fascination and reactions to the animals they encountered.
